8/9/2020 11:26:12 PM
Early Times Report

Srinagar, Aug 9: A BJP leader was injured on Sunday morning when militants fired at him in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, the police said. Abdul Hamid Najar of Ompora, BJP’s OBC district president Budgam, was on a morning walk when the unknown militants fired at him. “Najar was injured in the attack and was shifted to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, for treatment,” a police officer said. “He was allotted secured accommodation and had slipped away from there,” he added.
Soon after the attack, security forces cordoned the area to trace the attackers.
This is the third attack in less than a week on a BJP leader in Kashmir. On August 4 evening, Arif Ahmad, a panch and a BJP leader, was critically injured when militants fired at him near his residence at Akhran Qazigund. Arif is now battling for his life. On the morning of August 6, Sajad Ahmad Khanday, a sarpanch affiliated with BJP, was shot dead outside his residence at Vessu in Kulgam district.
