Early Times Report

JAMMU, Aug 10: Shri Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated with religious fervor in Shri Raghunathji Temple in Jammu on Wednesday amid restrictions on the entry of devotees into temples in view of the Coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement issued here today, Mubarak Singh, President of J&K Dharmarth Trust, said that in compliance to the guidelines issued by the government in view of the coronavirus pandemic, the entry of devotees shall remain restricted in the temple premises on Shri Krishna Janmotsav this time. The Trust has made all necessary arrangements for the celebrations.
“The Trust has also cancelled the Shobha Yatra taken out every year on the eve of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. The regular prayers and rituals, however, shall be conducted as per traditions in all the temples falling under the realm of Dharmarth Trust by the in-house priests,” he added.
“Thousands of people every year throng Raghunath ji Temple to celebrate Janmotsav and offer their prayers, but due to Covid-19 this year there has been restrictions on the entry of devotees in the temple. This will be the first Janmashtami in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, when devotees will not be able to attend and offer their prayers at Shri Raghunath ji Temple,” he said.
The J&K Dharmarth Trust has extended warm greetings to the people on the eve of Shri Krishna Janmashtami and hoped that the occasion will infuse people with new energy, zeal and enthusiasm. The President has also appealed the people to stay back and offer prayers from their homes and hearths. He also prayed that Lord Krishna will bail out the Universe from the dark shadow of this deadly virus and once again people will become hail and hearty appreciating the matchless world created by God.
