KPs hold meet, list demands

JAMMU, Aug 11:Prominent Kashmiri Social and political activists during a meeting here today highlighted the problems being confronted by the KP community living in exile for last more than thirty years and appealed newly appointed Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha for resolving them on priority basis in order to provide justice to the displaced community who were forced to leave their homes and hearths in 1990 followed by breakout of armed insurgency at the behest of neighbouring country Pakistan.
Bhart Bhushan Bhat(Gosani), Shuban ji,Vinod Pandita, M.L. Bhat(Barnai), Vinod Bhat ,Nana Raina , (Sarpanch) ,Ashok Kumar Koul, Vishal Jotshi , B.K. Wantoo & others while issuing a statement today , highlighted the burning problems of the community viz; filling up of pending left out posts of PM employment package enrolled for educated KP youth forthwith , construction of additional residential quarters in valley for the PM Package employees working who were facing lot of hardships on this count , enhancement of cash assistance to relief holders which was a long pending demand , Permanent rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in valley as per theur aspirations,initiation of new recruitment process for the unemployed educated KP youth.
The members also demanded sanction of loans and other schemes for KP entrepreneurs for making them self reliant besides political representation in ongoing delimitation process for 7 lakh Kashmir Pandits to remove decades old political discrimination.
The members have jointly appealed LG Manoj Sinha who is well experienced, dynamic and fully acquainted with the miseries of KP community to resolve the above listed problems on priority basis as community has pinned high hopes in his leadership .
