KATHUA, Aug 11: District Development Commissioner, O.P Bhagat, today reviewed the progress under District Jal Jeevan Mission, here at a meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, the DDC reiterated the target of providing tap water supply connection to all households of the district by 2022 under the Mission.
He asked the department to take up work in all the blocks in mission mode to achieve the target within stipulated time frame.
The meeting was informed that DPRs of the water schemes for 175 panchayats, out of total 257 Panchayats, have been submitted as per Village Action Plan by Jal Shakti Department.
The DDC directed the department to submit the remaining DPRs of the water schemes by August 18, 2020.
He also directed XEN Ground Water to prioritize kandi blocks Barnoti & Marheen, while taking up works including restoration of defunct hand pumps in all blocks of the district.
He stressed upon the concerned officers to work with zeal and enthusiasm so that objectives of the mission are implemented in letter and spirit.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Atul Gupta; CPO Uttam Singh; ACD Narayan Dutt; CMO, Ashok Choudhary; XEn Jal Shakti, Surjeet Singh; DFO and other concerned officers.
