Jammu, Aug 11: Thakur Manmohan Singh General Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has expressed concern over the plight of daily earning people because of Covid 19 and their ignorance by the government.
Manmohan Singh said that the daily earning people such as Rehri/phari walas, Pujaries of various temples, small businessmen, painters, carpenters and others who earn daily to feed their families have suffered a lot due to closure of temples and all other works since March this year.
He said that Yatra of Amarnathji and Machail Mata did not take place this year and thousands of people associated with yatras have been affected. They have spent whatever they having and now they are on the verge of hunger and starvation. They have not been provided any type of relief or help from the Government and are left on the mercy of God. PCC General Secretary demanded that all such people should be provided at least Rs.10,000/- in cash to start up their avenues in addition to the loan provided by the government.
He also demanded that the interest of business loans of small businessmen should be waived off. Due to closure of religious places like temples, Maszids, Gurdwaras, Girzaghars etc, the Pujaries and others have become unemployed and are facing hardships to feed their families.. They should be provided immediate relief, besides temples and other religious places should be opened, with strictly following the health advisories and other SOPs in this regard, he added.
