POONCH, Aug 11: With the burning of transformer feeding the village Kotain Kandi in Ward No 9 of Sub-Division Mendhar in district Poonch, the residents are without electricity for last several days.
The transformer burnt out and is yet to be replaced. Darkness has descended once again, but the concerned authorities have failed to act so far, said locals.
People of the area who are facing immense difficulties these days, said the concerned department has turned deaf year over the miseries of the people.
"We have repeatedly brought the matter into the notice of officials, but to no avail", they said.
Social Worker Mohd Yaser Arfat said that PDD officers have not given proper attention to their problem and they are left with no option other than to agitate and hit the streets.
They appealed to the Chief Engineer PDD Jammu to issue suitable instructions to the concerned officers at Mendhar for immediate replacement of the damaged transformer in their area. |
