Kashmir Drama: Shah Feasal in 2019 quit job, now abandoned his party
‘No one talk about Jammu, region keeps suffering’
8/11/2020 11:44:48 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Aug 11: The resignation of 2009 IAS topper Shah Faesal has abandoned his year back flouted political party which have been in headline of national as well as the international media, but at the same time no one is talking about the suffering of Jammu region.
Shah Faesal in March 2019 while launching his Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) had claimed that “Hawa Badlegi” (winds of time will change) but rather than materializing what he promised, he preferred to quit.
Meanwhile, the suffering of Jammu division due to backstabbing of the so-called champion of Jammu cause, remained unnoticed and still going on, in the region, especially the economic and industrial hub of Jammu, Samba and Kathua are still facing crisis. Due to the political vacuum in Jammu region, the businessmen in Jammu are exploring the ways to convey the messages of their loss to business through intelligence agencies to the government.
A senior Professor of University of Jammu commenting on Shah's sudden decision of stepping down from the post of President of JKPM has stated that he has failed the youth, who wished a better future of J&K through young leaders, as the Abdullah and Mufti families in Kashmir had turned defunct.
“Though no other leaders of JKPM seemed active after August 5, last year when the erstwhile J&K State stripped of its special status and carved into two Union Territory. Shah along with several other leaders was put under house arrest”, said the Professor, who has rigorously studied the Kashmir issues and political development since Dogra rules in J&K.
“No doubt the Kashmiris are fed up with Abdullahs and Muftis in Kashmir. There was a gap between Kashmiris and the New Delhi, Shah could be better option to bridge that gap, but his decision is beyond the ground realties”, he said.
“I thought that, Shah is a dynamic and honest person, his slogans gave me a ray of hope”, said JKPM leader from Ramban district, adding that people joined Shah on his face value and his works.
“We are expecting to an end of superiority of Kashmiris over Jammu people under his leadership, but unfortunately, within a short span of around 18 months he was disillusioned and quit the crusade he was leading”, he said, adding that he appeals the youth of Jammu province rather than being dependent on other especially Kashmiri, we should stand on our own.
“We people have great legacy, our last ruler Maharaja Hari Singh’s principals are enough to build an organization of his dream to lead his great state”, he said, adding that if Kashmir based parties have ruled J&K for decades, Jammu youth have potential to lead the J&K as well.
“Other than a visionary, regional party from Jammu no one can do better for the province, national parties have their own agendas”, said a student leader from Jammu University.
Referring to the ongoing losses to businesses of Jammu due to weekend lockdown in Jammu and other districts of the region, the student leader said, “Jammu have no leader in the time of crisis, top businessmen to a vendor, a transporter to a bus driver miserably seems failed to raise his/her concern. Once the “voice of Jammu”, BJP itself seems voiceless and unbothered.”
“It is the right time for us, I appeal to the Jammu (province) based leaders affiliated to different political parties to come together to save our Jammu, otherwise it will be too late for us to recover. We have suffered in 2008 and 2013 already”, he added.
