8/11/2020 11:44:58 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 11: In a major goof-up the Department of Higher Education recently issued a transfer order of an Assistant Professor (AP), who had actually resigned from services around a year back.
The transfer order issued by the HED number 308-JK (HE) of 2020 dated 10/08/2020, a total of 24 Assistant Professors were transferred.
In the list an Assistant Professor of was transferred from Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua to GDC Ramnagar.
However, as per sources, the same Assistant Professor had resigned from the services in Higher Education department around a year back after he successfully cracked the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS) exams and joined as junior scale KAS officer.
The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission had declared the result for 277 posts of Junior Scale KAS in the first week of August 2019 in which the AP had got selected, after which he joined the administrative services but the Higher Education department was caught unaware about the development even after one year.
“Issuing transfer order of an official, who had actually resigned year back, shows the casual functioning of Higher Education department which is not updated about the present status of its own workforce”, an official said, adding that in an era when, every bit of information reached to every nook and corner of the world, the department failed to even got information about its own workforce, which was unfortunate.
An official alleged that the department was quite aware of the resignation of the AP, as the department has not released his salary for these months.
“No salary has been paid to the AP since he had resigned, which means that the department has accepted his resignation. By showing his name in the transfer order, the department is trying to befool the students of Ramnagar as well as administration that they have send the AP but in actual terms it was aimed at adjusting the other AP at his choicest post”, sources alleged.
Under Secretary to Higher Education department Shabir Ahmed Baba said that the resignation of the AP might have not reached their office. Baba also said that in some cases it takes time for the resignation to get accepted.
He said the new Assistant Professor would be posted in the Ramnagar college.
