Cyber Police apprehends one person for sending obscene pictures, messages

JAMMU, Aug 12: Cyber Police Jammu has arrested one person for sending obscene pictures and messages to a woman on a social media site.
Acting on a written complaint received at Cyber Police Station, Jammu from one woman, a resident of Jammu that one unknown facebook profile with a female nomenclature has become facebook friend with her.
Soon after becoming friends with her the handler of that facebook profile confessed that he is a male and started sending vulgar comments/obscene pictures on facebook messenger.
Based on the complaint, a case FIR No 04/2020 U/S 67/67-A under Information Technology Act was registered at Cyber Police Station, Jammu and the investigation of the case was entrusted to Inspector Rakesh Sharma of Cyber Police Station, Jammu.
During the course of investigation the data (both electronic & physical) was collected and analyzed. Based on the evidences collected, the Investigating Officer under close supervision of Naresh Sharma SP Ops Jammu (SHO Cyber Police Station) zeroed down one suspect namely Ramesh Kumar, son of Bihari Lal of Khour Deonian, PS Miran Sahib, RS Pura Jammu. The said accused was summoned for questioning at Cyber Police Station Jammu.
During questioning the suspect confessed the commission of crime and subsequently he was arrested in the instant case.
Further investigation of the case is in process. During investigation it has surfaced that the accused used to send similar friend requests and obscene pictures to multiple Facebook users.
