UDA hits out at PDD for unscheduled power cuts during Janmashtami
8/12/2020 11:47:34 PM

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Aug 12: Despite Janmashtami Festival, Power Development Department (PDD) failed to ensure uninterrupted power supply to Jammu city. This was stated by Chief Spokesperson, United Democratic Alliance, Rajiv Mahajan in a statement issued here on Wednesday.
Irked by the unscheduled power cuts, he questioned the promises made by the then PDP-BJP government to provide interrupted 24x7 power supply in the 100 percent metered areas.
“People are facing problems because of power cuts during festivals. It is strange that the PDD has failed to ensure proper electricity supply,” he said. Frequent and extended unscheduled power cuts during the summer have become a routine in the Jammu city as the government has failed to take drastic steps to stop power pilferage and act against the power thieves, he said.
The signatories to the statement included Manish Sahni Convener, Lt Gen. (Retd.) Pradeep Singh Mehta Principal Advisor, IG (Retd.) Sudhir Dogra General Secretary, Co- Conveners Col. (Retd.)
