Early Times Report

DODA, Aug 12: The Weeklong behavioral change sanitation campaign “Gandagi Mukht Bharat” is going on in full swing across this district witnessing overwhelming response of the people.
The day-5 was marked by massive plantation drive at different Panchayats here across the district.
District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode; Assistant Commissioner Development Prem Singh Chib; DPO Mohammad Idrees Lone and BDOs are monitoring the activities being undertaken across the length and breadth of the district as a mission to achieve the goal of neat and clean society.
A plastic collection and segregation campaign, led by Sarpanchs, was also undertaken in various blocks/panchayats with huge people’s participation.
The field functionaries, in collaboration with PRIs, cleaned the government offices, public places, streets and institutions. White washing of Panchayat Ghars, toilets and community sanitary complexes also formed the part of the campaign since it has been kickstarted in the district.
All the activities of the Campaign have been planned keeping in view the Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines prescribed by the government for containment of spread of COVID-19.
During the ongoing week long campaign, special Swachhta initiatives in rural areas to re-enforce the ‘Jan Andolan’ for ‘Swachhta’ and to promote positive behavioral change towards sanitation and hygiene have been scheduled.
The PRI members, in coordination with the concerned field functionaries, also motivated the local people of their Panchayats for keeping their surroundings neat and clean. They also appealed the local people to come out of their homes and actively participate in week long programme by following all COVID-19 guidelines.
