BJP failed in restoring past glory of Basohli: Manohar

KATHUA, Aug 13: Former Minister and president District Congress Committee (DCC) Kathua Dr Manohar Lal Sharma while conducting a public meeting at Basohli today lambasted BJP leadership for failing in restoring past glory of Basholi town. While speaking he said no new project was allotted for Basholi in the past six years rule of BJP, infact it has also failed in maintaining the existing old infrastructure like Tourism complex, Tourism Authority, roads and Degree college. Further he said that people are facing worse problems due to frequent long power cuts and water supply problem in the town and adjoining areas. He also said that unemployment has further increased and more business establishments have closed due to present pandemic . Government has not taken any concrete steps to revive the same.
Manohar further raised voice for District status to Basohli seeing it’s historical tourism value and hilly terrain. He said Basohli is approx. 70 kms from district headquarters and also comprises of Hilly mountain terrain, if created this district will comprise of tehsil & blocks Basohli, Bani, Dhar, Bhoond and Pandar.
The members of District Congress Committee also passed a resolution against the tolls plazas in Lakhanpur and other areas of Jammu and demanded that this organized looting of people should be immediately stopped and the central government should abolish and lift all the toll plazas in Jammu & Kashmir. Also present were Davinder Singh Bindu, Sr Congress leader, Mohinder Bashotra Sr Congress leader, Abhinav Razdhan Vice-President MC Basholi, Anu Bashotra Councilor, Vishal Kumar Councilor, Sarpanch Pawan Kumar Manta and Sarpanch Raj Singh Sanju, Sanjay Razdhan, Arun Kumar, Kuldeep Singh, Parmod Singh, Anil Kumar and others.
