GDC Paloura celebrates International Youth Day

Jammu, Aug 13: To commemorate “International Youth Day” NSS Unit in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club of Govt. Degree College Paloura (Mishriwala), Jammu organized Inter-College Poster Making Competition through online mode on the themes: Youth as Protector of the environment, Role of Youth in Nation building and Society, HIV-AIDS and DRUG ABUSE. A total of 26 students participated from various colleges. Prof. Narayan Dutt was the Convener of the event. The event was co-ordinated by Dr. Sanjay Kapoor (NSS Programme Officer). The purpose of the contest was to spread awareness amongst the youth about their role in protecting their environment, their fight against Corona Virus Pandemic, and their social responsibility towards their Nation. The entries were adjudged by Dr. Satya Paul (Professor, Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu) and Dr. Meenakshi Bandral (Associate Professor, Department of Zoology, GCW Gandhi Nagar). Leepika Sharma of Govt. MAM PG College and Manik Kumar of GCET, Jammu bagged the first prize; Vishali Jamwal of KC College of Education and Sakshi Thakur of GCOE, Canal Road, secured the second position; Anamika Sharma of KC College of Education clinched the third prize. E-Certificates were awarded to the winners. Prof. Ramneek Kaur, Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of NSS Unit and the members of Red Ribbon Club for organising such an event on digital platform.
She also thanked the adjudicators of the competition for sparing their valuable time.
