6 day International Webinar on Public Health concludes

Jammu, Aug 13: A six-day international webinar on the theme - Public Health, Women’s Agency and Peace building: International Webinar on Women’s Rights, Recognition and Protection during COVID 19 concluded August 11 with valedictory session that was attended by Mission Director, Integrated Child protection Services and Sr. Additional Advocate Seema Khajooria Shekher among other dignitaries, eminent academicians, educationists, civil servants, media professionals, peacepractitioners researchers, scholars and students across the country and abroad.
Organized with the aim to highlight women’s role in building peace, policy and protection mechanisms during the Covid-19 pandemic, this unique event was the result of a one-of-its-kind collaboration between
The Law School, University of Jammu, Yakjah Reconciliation and Development Network and International Civil Society Action Network (ICAN).
The thrust of the four technical sessions was to bring forth local to global dynamics, stories and experiences of women, men and third gender by experts from their respective fields. Rich in content and stimulating discussion explored the role of the state, academia, judiciary, media and civil society in advancing women’s agency to leverage policy and aspirations of marginalized, vulnerable and those living on the edge communities. Technical session 1 Chaired by Ms. Aditi Kapoor, Co- Founder Alternative Futures summarized speakers Kanta Singh, Programme Country Manager, UN Women India, Melinda Holmes, Director WASL, ICAN, US.
