Kavinder Visits flood affected areas of Gandhi Nagar constituency

Jammu , Aug 28: While taking stock of the damages being caused by the recent heavy rains, Senior BJP leader and Former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta along with Vinay Kumar Gupta BJP President District Jammu, Ankush Gupta district General Secretary today visited Dharap, Khwaskan, Jeevan Nagar, Kunjwani, Langer, Greater Kailash, Trikuta Nagar ward no.52,Nanak Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Preet Nagar and other affected areas of the Gandhi Nagar Constituency. Kavinder Gupta took stock of the restoration works undertaken by the JMC and I&FC Department and interacted with locals at these places. He visited the site of the Nallahs from where the water overflowed and issued necessary instructions to concerned departments and Concerned Teshildar of the area.
Slabs of the Nallahs have been dismantled due to which the flood water overflowed and caused damage to the property of the people, and moreover the de-silting works are also going on which will provide more space for water to flow.
Gupta interacted with the families of flood victims and asked revenue officers to assess the damages suffered by the people and furnish the details in the shortest possible time so that the process of compensating these people can be initiated at the earliest.
Gupta took stock of torrential rain that lashed the district in the past two days has caused extensive damage to property left many areas flooded. All rivers and canals in the district Jammu are overflowing. Several areas are under water. Most of the houses were damaged when uprooted trees fell over them. Gupta informed concerned departments for getting the damaged lanes and drains restored within shortest possible time and depute a dedicated team from district administration to assess the losses to the people. He interacted with the families of the flood victims and told them to reach to district administration for early assessment of the damages suffered by every family and furnish the details in the shortest possible time so that the process of compensation under any available scheme can be initiated at the earliest.
Gupta listened to the problems of the inhabitants and assured with the best possible solution to the genuine problem.
During the tour Anil Kumar Councillor, Narinder Koki, Bharat Bhushan, Lucky, Jaswant Singh, Jameet Singh, Rattan Manhas, Tarachand, Darshan Grover, Arjun Suri, Sahil and other prominent person accompanied him.
