SaMaPa digital baithak continues on 11th week

Jammu, Sept 15: The ongoing SaMaPa Digital Baithak Series presented by the cultural and educational organization of India, SaMaPa (Sopori Academy of Music And Performing Arts) continued for the 11th week.
The first programme of the 11th week featured Raga Shree presented on the Sitar by well known Sitar player Ustad Rafique Khan from Mangalore. A ‘Top’ grade artist of All India Radio, his rendition of Raga Shree was full of purity with a fine balance of gayaki and tantrakari ang.
He presented an impressive Aalap, Gat in Dhamaar Taal & Drut Teentaal. Earlier renowned vocalist Pandit Bholanath Mishra presented an elaborated & educative introduction to the raga. The other recital featured engrossing Violin recital by well known Violinist Ustad Asghar Husain from Delhi Gharana. He presented Raga Jaunpuri with fine Aalap and compositions in Vilambit Mattaal, Madhyalaya Teentaal & Drut Teentaal.
He was accompanied on the Tabla by renowned Tabla player Ustad Akhtar Hasan.
Well known Vocalist Pt. Naresh Malhotra presented a detailed introduction to Raga Jaunpuri. The Baithaks were compered by Sadhna Shrivastav.
