GDC Vijaypur organizes online national level competitions

Jammu, Sept 15: Government Degree College Vijaypur organized an online national level competition for bookmark making and Rangoli making. Students from various Colleges and Universities of the country participated in the competition. In the bookmark making competition, students used handmade papers, paints, glitter, adhesive etc. and prepared eye-catching bookmarks using innovative ideas to make them look more interesting and to capture the reader’s imagination.
In the rangoli making competition, students created beautiful rangoli patterns on various themes like peacock, ganesha, nature etc. In both the competitions, different colors were used by students to flaunt their artistic imagination. In the bookmark making competition, the first position was shared by Poonam Sharma, BMS Institute of Para Medical Sciences; Simrandeep Kour, SKUAST Jammu and Tamanna Sharma, GCW Gandhinagar.
The second position was shared by Shuvam Mankotia, GDC Billawar and Simran Choudhary, SKUAST Jammu whereas the third position was secured by Monika, MAM PG College. Consolations were awarded to Tania, GCW Gandhinagar; Mansi Rani, GCW Parade; Sumayyah, GDC Eidgah, Srinagar; Manisha Kumari, GDC Vijaypur and Meenali, MIET College Jammu. In the rangoli making competition, the first position was shared by Sheetal Patil, SSVPSLBSD, College of Engineering, Dhule, Maharashtra; Mridhu Sharma, SKUAST Jammu and Tania, GCW Gandhinagar. The second position was shared by Muskan Mahajan, GGM Science College; Mansi Rani and Mehak Patyal, GCW Parade whereas the third position was shared by Jasreen Chauhan, SKUAST Jammu; Sapna Sharma, MAM PG College and Simrandeep Kour, SKUAST Jammu. Consolation was awarded to Vivek Choudhary, GDC Vijaypur. The Jury comprised of Dr. Gunjeet Mahiwal, Dr. Shittal Sharma, Dr. Ruchi, Ms. Renuka Kundal and Ms. Sonia Bhagat. Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College thanked the students for participating in the competition with great zeal and enthusiasm and expressed her happiness for the beautiful creativity and talents exhibited by the students in both rangoli and bookmark making. She exhorted students to actively participate in such activities so that they can keep their competitive spirits high.
