Srinagar, Sept 16 Wishing former Union minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on his birthday, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah described him as a great friend of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Whether in government or out of office Chidambaram is one of the few people who minced no words after August 5, 2019 and wholeheartedly supported moves to reduce security forces in the Jammu and Kashmir, the Vice President of the National Conference (NC) Omar said.
Taking to micro blogging site Twitter Omar said “ Here’s wishing @PChidambaram_IN sahib a very happy birthday. He has been a great friend of the people of J&K, whether in government or out of office. One of the few people who minced no words after 5th August & who supported, wholeheartedly, moves to reduce security forces in J&K”
