Era of separatism over
9/16/2020 11:52:23 PM
Reorganization of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir State into two Union Territories has brought to fore the wrongs which were committed by the former political regimes.
People who ruled J&K in the past carried on with such practices which encouraged separatism and ant-national elements.
When PDP president Mehbooba Mufti was the Chief Minister of J&K, she had granted amnesty to 10,000 stone pelters and even compelled the Centre to announce one month Ramadan ceasefire. Her acts emboldened the anti-national elements and the Pakistani stooges in the Valley.
The biggest disservice which the politicians like Mehbooba and others did was that they pampered separatists like Hurriyat hawk Geelani, Hurriyat dove Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and others.
They were provided security cover and other privileges. Despite enjoying all the benefits these separatists’ kept on talking in the language of Pakistan.
After Centre’s August 5, 2019 decision, all the separatists’ have been rendered irrelevant. They don’t figure anywhere. Ones who used to disrupt the normal life by orchestrating stone pelting and calling for shutdowns have lost their addresses. Most of them are in jail and the ones who are out are aware of the fact that their one statement could put them in soup.
What has happened during the past one year had never happened before. The wings of separatists’ and mainstream leaders having leanings towards Pakistan have been clipped and they have taken refuge in the rat holes.
Politicians, who ruled J&K in the past, had given a long rope to the anti-national elements as they wanted to remain in the good books of Pakistan and the people like Geelani. Now, it has been proven beyond doubt that these separatist were nothing but a hoax. They had created fear by relying on the Pakistan sponsored terrorists. The era of separatism in Kashmir has ended and security forces are out to wipe the terrorism from the Valley once for all.
Times have changed so have the people of Kashmir. During the past one year people have proved it beyond doubt that for them Article 370 was nothing more than a slogan which was raised by the mainstream leaders for their own gains.
The leaders who ruled the roost for past seven decades and the ones who sold illusions and dreams to people stand isolated and cornered. Most of the people believe that they have got rid of the rot and it’s no point paying attention towards their politics.
