Govt playing with careers of educated unemployed youth: Praduman
9/16/2020 11:53:25 PM

EarlyTimes Report

JAMMU, Sept 16: Research scholar, Praduman Singh expressed resentment against the government for having no concrete policy for the educated unemployed youth of J&K.
In a statement issued here today, Praduman Singh said that on one hand the government motivates children, youth to study and had set up schools, colleges and Universities across the UT and on the other hand the same educational institutions face a shortage of teaching and non teaching staff. “The government is playing with the careers of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir,” he asserted.
Singh mentioned there are thousands of highly qualified youth and PhD degree holders are jobless and want a clear job policy which the government has so far failed to bring. Majority of the colleges and several universities run their academics by hiring contractual teaching staff despite being a government recognised institute. This system is adding more difficulties to the students who are already facing severe problems, he added. “The unemployment graph in J&K is going up at a fast pace,” he said and added that the Jammu University administration has been working by hiring contractual teachers and failing to fill up the vacant posts which could have apparently lowered down the unemployment in Jammu. “Government is making false promises of progress in Jammu and Kashmir hence fails to address educated youth,” he said. Besides other vacant posts are yet to be filled by the government, he added. Singh appealed to the Government to fill posts of Assistant Professors lying vacant in the degree colleges of Jammu and Kashmir so that unemployed youth would get a sigh of relief.
