9/16/2020 11:53:31 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Sept 16: Convenor, United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Jammu and Kashmir, Rajiv Mahajan welcomed the decision of the Estates Department of issuing final eviction notices to a number of former Ministers and Legislators of different political parties, who are illegally occupying Government bungalows in both the capitals cities of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
Besides final eviction notices, intimation notices have also been issued to several Ex Ministers and Legislators asking them to vacate the Government accommodation, of which they are no more entitled after dissolution of the Assembly and expiry of the stipulated period.
Terming it a welcome step, Rajiv Mahajan said that it is a setback for BJP leaders who continually stay in government houses and ministerial bungalows illegally since the Assembly dissolved in J&K.
He added that the BJP ex-Ministers and MLAs are conferred with all kind luxuries of life in J&K and were still occupying the government quarters illegally in brazen defiance of the High Court’s orders for eviction.
“Ex-Ministers and MLAs of the BJP including its leaders are enjoying the govt. accommodation without paying the rent for several months,”.
The signatories to the statement included Manish Sahni former Convener, Lt Gen (Retd) Pradeep Singh Mehta Principal Advisor, IG (Retd) Sudhir Dogra General Secretary, Co- Conveners Col (Retd) S S Pathania, Com (Retd) Bhushan Devan, Col (Retd) PS Jamwal, Col J P Singh, Vijay Sharma, (Retd DC) and others.
