| Sham Langer demands completion of multi-level car parking before Diwali | | |

JAMMU, Sept 16: Sham Lal Langer, Convenor of BJP’s Industries and Trader Cell J&K on Tuesday urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to give directions to concerned officers of the executing agencies to synergise their efforts and complete the work on multi-level car parking-cum-commercial complex project at general bus stand so that the same doesn’t misses the October deadline.
In a statement issued today, Sham Lal Langer said that the multi-level car parking-cum-commercial complex project has become proverbial white elephant for the government after it missed several launch dates in the past and was marred by cost escalation besides proving to be eye sore for the business community which has been affected by the unfounded delay in the completion of this project.
Sham Lal said that the completion of this project in stipulated time frame is imperative for two basic reasons, the first one is the cost escalation on account of inflation and labourers’ dearth and the second one is the business loss of crores of rupees to those who have their establishments in the vicinity as the construction work has severely hampered their day to day working and even it has forced some of the businessmen to temporarily shift their shops to other places for continuing their daily chores related to their trade. |
