GDC Kalakote Principal releases book

Jammu, Sept 17: Principal Government Degree College (GDC) Kalakote Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta has released the maiden book of Naseer Ud-Din Sofi Lecturer English at GDC Kalakote titled as “Nature and Scope of Ecocriticism”.
On the occasion Principal, Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta has appreciated the work of the author. He also says that Ecocriticism has become one of the most exciting, rapidly and challenging areas of literary and cultural studies today.
This book introduces the major areas of concern which is clear, accessible and in an organized fashion. It provides an overview of the emergence of ecocriticism as a discipline and examines many of its important critical writings.
Naseer Ud-din Sofi in his book demonstrates how many of the ideas and concepts in the subject can be usefully applied when reading texts, as well as inviting students to develop their own view of Ecocriticism.
The author has completed his Doctorate Degree from Jaipur National University Jaipur in the School of Languages, Literature and Society.
He has completed his Bachelors from GDC Baramulla, Masters Degree from IUST, Awantipora, J&k. Besides he has done Bachelors of Education in (B.Ed) from the University of Kashmir.
He has presented papers in many National and International conferences and Seminars. He has credited many book chapters and also published several research papers in reputed National &International Journals.
Moreover, the author has six years of teaching experience at BGSB University Rajouri.
The programme was attended by various faculty members of GDC Kalakote Prof. Anayat Ullah Khan, Prof. Shachin Kumar Bhagat, Dr Dinesh Sharma, Dr Afa Dul Mujiba, Dr Mohd Shakoor.
