Declare PHE, PDD, CAPD employees as corona warriors: Manjit Singh
9/17/2020 11:34:13 PM

Early Time Report

JAMMU, Sept 17: Apni Party Provincial President and Former Minister Manjit Singh today appealed to the Government to declare Block Level office, Public Health Department (PHE), Animal Husbandry, CAPD and Power Development Department (PDD) as covid warriors. In a statement to the press, Singh said that it is sheer injustice with the officers and employees of other departments working in different Govt. Departments and dealing with the people. “These officials and employees have put their lives to risk and many of them have lost their lives after being infected with the deadly novel coronavirus,” said Manjit Singh.
Singh said that recently PDD and PHE employees got infected while performing their duties in the field and died of covid-19. “The Government should declare these Departments officials and employees as corona warriors so that they can also get the benefit for ex-gratia like Health Dept, Police Dept and sanitization workers of municipality. The lives of these officials are equally important and they should be given due importance and respect for their fight against covid-19 by keeping public service and the supply system intact despite threat to their lives. The Apni Party Provincial President requested Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for his immediate intervention and restoration of confidence among the officials/employees working in the field. “We get water and electricity supply because of these unknown heroes/warriors who are still waiting for recognition of their services,” he added.
