JKEDI hosts Entrepreneurship Orientation Programme

JAMMU, Sept 19: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) today held one day Entrepreneurship Orientation Programme for the students of Guidance and Counselling cell for Youth Development, Samba. Around 23 students participated in the Orientation Programme hosted as a part of the Institute’s policy to orient youth of Jammu & Kashmir about the charms of entrepreneurship.
The program started with a welcome address by Vishal Ray, Regional Coordinator, Jammu, followed by a presentation by Shiwani Sharma about the importance of Entrepreneurship and self-employment initiatives being implemented by the institute.
Programme Coordinator, Soarb Mengi, discussed in detail the J&K Start Up policy and support offered by JKEDI at its Incubation Centres. Priya Sharma along with Vishal Singh conducted a business simulation exercise which included lessons on basic business skills and performance improvement techniques.
The program concluded with the address of Dr. Majid Manzoor Khan, Associate Senior Faculty, who highlighted the importance of new enterprise creation and motivated the students to take up entrepreneurship as a career path.
The participants also expressed their desire to work for creating awareness among the masses at their own level so that more youth can opt for entrepreneurship.
