NMC demands inclusion of Punjabi, Gojri as official languages

Jammu, Sept 20: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) President Subash Shastri today impressed upon the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister to include Punjabi and Gujari in the list for inclusion of Dogri, Hindi, Kashmiri and English as official languages, a part from the existing Urdu, in the UT J&K proposed bill approved by the Union Cabinet recently for introduction in the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament.
The Central Govt. decision will not only bring ease of Governance, but also ease of citizen participation in governance in UT. This was along pending demands of NMC to declare Hindi & Dogri as a official language stands fulfilled by the PM and Union Home Minister, said Shastri this while interacting with media persons here.
He said that now Dogri Hindi can also be used as medium language in the official documents/work in UT many documents in the department could be conducted easily and also be understood by every citizen of UT knowing his own language. NMC Chief further said that inclusion of Dogri, Hindi etc as official languages is not only a fulfillment of a long pending demand, but also in keeping with the spirit of equality.
The NMC got a shot in the arm when the Dogri, Hindi language became as official languages in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
The NMC members in one voice under their president, Subash Shastri lauded land mark Centre’s Govt. decision to include Dogri along with Hindi and Kashmiri, Urdu and English as the five official languages of UT.
