BSP demands 27% reservations to SC, ST, OBCs in J&K

JAMMU, Sept 20: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) J&K held a party members meeting at head office Jammu wherein several issues related to backward class community were discussed threadbare.
Member Parliament (MP) and Party In-charge J&K, Raja Ram presided over the meeting.
Proff Kali Dass, F.C Satyia and Shashi Verma met the Member Parliament Raja Ram along with other community members and requested him to raise issue with regard to grant of 27% reservation to Backward Classes in Jammu & Kashmir as per Mandal Commission Report in ongoing Lok Sabha session.
In this connection, a delegation of Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe community headed by Vishal Salgotra, Raman Kumar, Babu Ram, District Presidents Kathua, Som Nath, Avinash Attri from Samba, Pardeep Kumar, Romesh Lal from Akhnoor, Yashpal Bhagat and Pawan Kundal from Jammu held a thorough discussion with the Member Parliament.
Another delegation from Udhampur also requested the Member Parliament to raise the issue of implementation of Mandal Commission report, 27% reservation to backward classes, 15% reservation to Schedule Caste and 20% reservation to Schedule tribes in J&K as per the central laws.
The meeting informed that the BSP J&K passed a resolution strongly recommended the demands put forth by various heads of backward Samaj, SC Samaj to be raised in the ongoing Parliament session.
Majotra President BSP J&K said that post Article 370 & 35A all the central laws can be implemented in the UT of J&K. He retreated that BSP is only party that is fighting for the cause of SC, ST and OBCs in the parliament and outside the parliament.
The Member Parliament Raja Ram had couple of day ago raised the issue in the Parliament. In response to issue, the Sabha Patti directed the Ministry of Home Affairs to immediately review the matter and asked why this issue is lingering for the past many years when Centre Government is directly handling the all issue in the J&K.
Majotra appealed to the Dalits and other poor peoples of various section of the society to come forward and join the BSP and strengthen the party base in J&K if they wanted to save the future of their new generation to come.
