Early Times Report

SUNDERBANI, Sept 21: Throwing the detachment orders to wind at least two teachers of an education zone in this tehsil of Rajouri district continue to enjoy attachment far away in the cozy comforts of Jammu, the winter capital of union territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
Sources told Early Times that while one teacher is a general line teacher the other one is a Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teacher. These teachers are originally posted in the Lower Hathal education zone of Sunderbani in Rajouri district. Both these teachers are at present attached in Jammu.
“The original place of posting of the general line teacher is at Government Primary School, Siyah with the original place of posting of ReT is Government Middle School ward number 8 at Nahoti in the Nallah Panchayat. Instead of the original place of posting these teachers are discharging duties at Jammu,” said sources.
Sources said that while the general line teacher has been enjoying attachment for the past five years the ReT has been attached for the past three years. They said that despite the order that an ReT teacher cannot be transferred here in this case the ReT has been attached and not to talk of the transfer.
“The concerned Chief Education Officer and Zonal Education Officer have many times written to their higher ups to detach the teachers, but the same has not happened so far.
This shows that these teachers are enjoying the patronage of higher ups of the department and one wonders who would take the action now,” said sources.
Sources said that few days back a clerk of the concerned education zone called up one of the teachers who in turn asked him to contact the Commissioner Secretary on the issue. A senior officer on the condition of anonymity said that many letters have been shot to the higher ups for detachment of teachers adding that these people continue to be attached.
