DDC Ramban reviews working of health department

RAMBAN, Sept 21: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan, today chaired a meeting of the District Health Society to review the achievements in the health services, especially under the National Health Mission (NHM).
Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mohammad Fareed Bhat, informed the meeting that 23 Rogi Kalyan Samities (RKS) are functional in the district against the target of 36 RKS. DDC directed the BMOs to formulate the proposed RKSs in their blocks to improve the health facilities in health institutions.
It was further informed that 1887 institutional deliveries were recorded till August 2020, while 543 mother beneficiaries were provided financial incentive under the scheme. Furthermore 3808 pregnant women were provided free diagnosis treatment under JSSK in the district.
The CMO informed that Health and Wellness Centres have been established across the district including at Dhalwas, Pernote, Ganote, Neera, Chanderkote and Kanga.
ADC, Ashok Sharma, Nodal Officer ISM, Executive Engineers of PWD, PDD, PHE, Dy. CMO, BMOs and various other members of the District Health society attended the meeting.
The DDC directed the CMO to organize awareness/ counselling camps on COVID-19 to help the people facing depression issues because of financial stress and psychological impact. “The people with symptoms of increased aggressiveness and post-traumatic stress due to multiple challenges thrown up by the change in lifestyle amid Covid pandemic needs to be addressed through expert counseling”, he said.
He directed the CMO to nominate 5 doctors for taking special training to address the mental health issues through the clinical process.
The DDC also reviewed the working of Dialysis Unit at District Hospital, BIO waste treatment plant, functioning of Sub District Hospital, Banihal in new building, staff strength, equipment and infrastructure available with the department across the district.
He also took the first hand appraisal of staff selection process under NHM and directed the concerned officers to complete the process in fair and transparent manners within stipulated time.
The CMO was further asked to achieve the target of issuance of golden cards to AYUSHMAN-BHARAT scheme beneficiaries. The BMOs were directed to constitute a minimum two COVID testing teams to accelerate the rate of testing in the district besides strengthening the contact tracing and identification of symptomatic people for their sampling.
