| Family of yet another youth appeals him to return home in Anantnag | | | Early Times Report
Anantnag, Sept 21: Family members of another youth, who has joined militancy, has appealed him to return home in this south Kashmir district.
In an appeal through social media, family members of a youth Talib Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Ara in Anantnag has appealed him to return back home and join the family.
The appeal was made about two days after an audio went viral on social media in which Talib is heard announcing to join militancy. I need only your prayers and donot worry about me, said the message by Talib who has got admission in Post Graduation (PG) in History in the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
Over 21 youths who had joined militancy have shunned the path of militancy and joined mainstream.
Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh has recently said that these youths have now joined the mainstream after they were persuaded by family, security forces and police . He further said even local militants can surrender during encounter and Cordon and Search Operations (CASO)
The youths were allowed to join their families and lead a normal life after proper counseling, he said.
He had also reiterated his appeal to local militants to shun the path of violence and join their families and mainstream.
Two militants were also allowed to surrender during encounters in Shopian and Srinagar recently.
