Early Times Report

Udhampur, Sept 21: An important meeting of JK Teachers Association held at Udhampur under the Chairmanship of its UT President Bhupinder Singh and District President Udhampur Sudesh Kumar.
While speaking on the occasion, Bhupinder Singh higlighted the genuine issues of teachers fraternity includes, benefit of 7th pay commission in favour of teacher grade II/lll with effect from 2016, Teachers grade II and Teachers grade III have got the benefit of 7th pay commission from 2018 instead of 2016. It should be given from 2016 as the other ReT Teachers which were engaged in 2000, 3rd Teachers have got. As per the policy of the government the ReT teachers after completion of five years of their service converted to general line teacher. Conversion to general line teacher means they can now able to take all the benefits the other general line teachers are having. Discussion on transfer policy was also held and found that transfer is must. Government should frame transfer policy in favour of regularised teachers.
Government should also think over the transfer policy for female teachers who are doing their jobs in other districts. Most of female teachers are staying at their parents homes or are on rent only to do their jobs . It is a big problem because families of teachers are staying away from them( in-laws home). In the meeting after discussion it was found that transfer policy in favour of female teachers must be given first preference.
