Jammu, Sept 22: A delegation of MJR47 and Sikh Budhijeevi led by S. Charanjit Singh Khalsa former MLC, BJP, met Lt Governor Manoj Sinha today.
A memo enumerating following issues of DPs of 1947 , and Sikh community including discrimination with Panjabi language were presented and discussed including implementation of R&R measures recommended by the DRPSC on Home Affairs, GOI vide its report no. 183 Dt. 22nd Dec 2014, inclusion of 5,300 DP families of 1947, settled outside and duly registered with PRO Jammu , in the Financial Package and also in the final settlement of DPs of 1947, Grant of proprietary rights of the small plots of land in the camps/ basties , on which our DPs, Delimitation Commission set up recently and our demand to open up atleast 8 Assembly seats out of the 24 seats kept frozen for the voters of POJK areas.
of Panjabi language in the recently issued order of official languages of the UTJK, Establishment and setting up of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Chair in Univ. of Jammu and construction of Guru Nanak Bhawan in Jammu City, Govt gave patient hearing and told that action is still pending to be taken on the recommendations of DRPSC for relief to DPs and will be taken up. He was told that some funds had already been allotted to Univ for the Guru Nanak Chair and balance minimum fund is still pending.
