EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Sept 22: A delegation of All J&K Young Unemployed Engineers Association (AJKYUEA) met RR Bhatnagar, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor. A memorandum highlighting the problems of unemployed engineering aspirants was submitted to the Advisor. The delegation includes Muktesh Yogi, Basharat Ali, Vikas Koul, Shubham Abrol, Vishal Saini and others.
While speaking, the delegation said that every year the pass out engineers are 15000 approximately and not even a single post has been advertised in any branch–Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, E&C, IT and Computer from past 7 years. “The last advertisement of engineers was issued in 2013-2014. After this not even a single post of engineers whether gazetted or non-gazetted has been advertised”, they added.
In 2018 some posts of electrical junior engineer and assistant electrical engineer was advertised but after sometime the posts were withdrawn, due to which the youth went into depression, they said, adding that it is duty of UT Government to utilize the genuine power of Engineers in their respective fields. “We certainly demand that both private and Government agencies should give first priority to J&K young unemployed engineers,” they said.
They demanded filling up of vacant posts of all engineering wings–Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic and Communication, Information Technology, Computer etc and a policy should be framed for private companies to accommodate J&K engineers’ at least in UT projects. After giving patient hearing to all these issues pertaining to engineers that were raised by delegates, Advisor assured that within a month some of the posts will be advertised and other issues will also redressed soon.
