Prominent leaders from Christian Community join Apni Party

JAMMU, Sept 23: Prominent leaders and youth members of Christian community today joined the Apni Party here in Gandhi Nagar.
They joined the Party in an impressive function organised under the supervision of General Secretary and Ex-MLC Vijay Bakaya, Provincial President and Ex-Minister Manjit Singh. President Bakshi Nagar Christian Community, Shahzad Mattoo, Chairman of Christian Community, Younis Mattoo, Head of All J&K Pastors Association, Pastor Yaqoob Mashe, Daniel, Rufas were prominent among those who joined the Party function the joining programme which was arranged by Apni Party leader Gourav Kapoor.
While welcoming them into the Party, General Secretary Vijay Bakaya said they have become members of a Party which is committed to pragmatic politics and it would shun divisive slogans and only focus on development of the State and its people.
Bakaya stated that it was a matter of pride for the Apni Party that the members of Christian community have joined whole heartedly in the belief that it would not make false promises like other parties have been making. He assured them the leadership would be accessible and responsive.
Speaking on the occasion, Manjit Singh also welcomed them into the Apni Party and assured them that the Party leadership will stand by them at all times and shall seek to redress their grievances proactively.
“Party will support the Christian Community and highlight their demands like employment issues and political representation. The Party stands for all the people irrespective of any discrimination,” he said.
Manjit Singh said that other political parties have exploited the community and many of their issues remained unaddressed. On this occasion, Apni Party youth leader Gourav Kapoor also welcomed the participants and promised that the Party was wedded to the upliftment of all those who had been deprived of employment opportunities and it would assure full support. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Ex-MLA Faqir Nath, Madan Lal Chalhotra, Bodh Raj Bhagat, Aijaz Kazmi, Abhay Bakaya, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, Shabir Kohli, Vajinder Singh Dutta, Joginder Singh, Yasir Choudhary and others.
