Jammu, Sept 23: In the pandemic times to break stress, anxiety, isolation and to refresh and energize the JU fraternity, the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu organized ‘Abhivyakti – 2020’ (Talent Display by the employees of the University) in an online competitive mode on different cultural activities among from the employees, officers and staff of the University to give expression and articulation to their creative, artistic and performing talents.
In Painting first position was secured by Ms. Sunita Amla, H A, Accounts Section where as Prof Sanjana Kaul from the School of Bio Technology and Dr Sarika Manha, Sr Asst Professor from Department of Home Science secured second and third position respectively.
In Photography (Edited Photographs) the first position was secured by Nipun Kohli,Computer Asst,Teaching Wing & runners up was Neeraj Bharadwaj from Examination Wing whereas in Photography(Unedited Photographs) first position was secured by Dr Meghna Dhar, Asst Professor, Dept of Library and Information Sciences & runners up was Dr Neeraj Sharma, Special Secretary to Vice Chancellor.
In Solo Singing first position was secured by Captain Sarweshwar Raj Dubey, Chief Security Officer, JU. Second Position was shared by Dr Neeraj Sharma, Special Secretary to Vice Chancellor and Sh Sooraj Prakash, Junior Asst, Dept of Env Science whereas third position was shared by & Prof Neeru Sharma, Chairperson, NSS Campus Unit and Prof Arvind Jasrotia, Dean, Faculty of Law.
In Poetry Recitation first position was secured by Madan Lal, Chowkidaar, Department of Students Welfare whereas Dr Neelam Chowdhary, Asst Professor, DDE and Dr Vikram Sahi from Dhanvantri Library secured second and third position respectively. Certificate of Appreciation in poetry was awarded to Dr Parshottam Kumar, Asst Professor, Department of Hindi.
Certificate of Appreciation in Rangoli & Mehndi was awarded to Dr Meghna Dhar & Ms Sunita Amla.
Certificate of Appreciation in Solo Dance was awarded to Mrs Bhupinder from DDE.
Adjudicators for the events were Sh Bhushan Kesar, Sh Chandan Sunder, Dr Kuldeep Raina and Dr. Vijya Thakur .
Prof. Manoj K Dhar, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu appreciated the efforts of Prof. Jasbir Singh, Dean Students Welfare to organize such events during pandemic.
The event was supervised by Prof. Anupama Vohra, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee and Prof. Samridhi Arora, Co-chairperson Campus Cultural Committee. Ms. Mansi Mantoo, Media Officer (SW), Ifra Kak, Cultural Officer and Mr. Sumeet Sharma, Drama Instructor, Department of Students Welfare coordinated the event and the technical support was provided by Arif Paul.
