| ShivSena demands COVID treatment under health insurance cover | | |

Jammu, Sept 23: Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray Jammu and Kashmir unit has urged administration to provide free treatment and medicines for Corona infected people under free health insurance cover earlier announced by the Government.
In a press Conference here today, Party UT President, Manish Sahni said that it has been announced to provide Universal health insurance coverage to all the residents of the Union Territory of J&K. Amid Covid-19 crisis, people should have been admitted in private and government run hospitals under this scheme, free treatment and medicines should also be given to the Covid-19 patients.
“Home quarantined and asymptomatic infected people should be provided free medicines at their door steps and should be given doctors’ contact numbers for any emergency besides free oximeter and oxygen cylinders must be provided to all the patients so that better treatment given to them. Sahni further said that in all private hospitals in J&K should be instructed to provide free treatment under the insurance scheme of the government.
Sahni appealed to the administration to take seriously the issues like oxygen cylinders, shortage of medical staff in hospitals and has demanded legal action, raising serious concerns over corruption prevailing in Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu with regard to purchase of oxygen cylinders. |
