Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 23: A retired employee of Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Corporation Limited (JKMSCL) who was reengaged by the Health Department has managed to occupy his previous post in the Corporation.
Sources in the Health Department told Early Times that a pharmacist like many others was reemployed for COVID duties to overcome the shortage of manpower to fight the pandemic. “His services were kept on disposal on Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Jammu and he was supposed to join at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar for further duties”, they said, adding that he managed to rework on his previous post.
“The pharmacist retired from the Corporation's Sample Warehouse, Ambphala in January this year. Interestingly, instead of serving the society in the time of pandemic as frontline warrior, what the Prime Minister had advised ‘apda mein avsar’ he preferred to sit in store, where he had served since the establishment of the corporation till his retirement”, they added.
“In the interest of administration and for smooth functioning of the work of the Sample Warehouse, Amphalla, retired Phamacist (…….) who has been engaged on contractual basis for one year vide Director Health Services Jammu order No; DHSJ/Cont/Es 2/20655-57 dated 31-3-2020 in pursuant to Govt. Order No: 347-(JK) HME of 2020 dated 28-03-2020 and his services placed before JKMSCL vide DHS Jammu letter No: DHSJ/COVID-19/2540-46, dated 19-5-2020 is directed to report to Medical officer Sample Store Amphalla for further duties”, order no 98 of 2020 dated 20/05/2020 issued by the General Manager J&K Medical Supplies Corporation Ltd read. Sources in the Corporation told that due to ‘manipulative’ order of his reemployment, his salary has not been released by the corporation nor the health department. “He was reemployed by the Health Department but he is working in the corporation, so his salary cannot be settled here at JKMSCL”, a source said, adding that the GM who issued his re engagement order has transferred and incumbent was not willing to supersede the rules.
General Manager, JKMSCL Sabha Noor could not be contacted as she was undergoing her treatment.
CMO Jammu, Dr J P Singh did not answer the repeated phone calls by this correspondent for his comment.
