IGP Jammu reviews law & order scenario of DKR range

JAMMU, Sept 24: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone held a meeting with DIG Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban (DKR) Range at Batote in order to discuss/review crime and law & order scenario in DKR Range of Jammu Province. SSPs of Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar were also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, a detailed briefing was given by the DIG DKR Range and district SSPs Ramban/Doda/Kishtwar one by one with regard to crime under various heads which includes general crime, cases related to property theft, NDPS, bovine smuggling and heinous nature cases. Discussion was also held on militancy and law and order front, particularly in view of the ongoing developments in South Kashmir including recent killing of a Sarpanch and BDC member.
IGP Jammu Mukesh Singh also reviewed the present security scenario as well as law and order and directed district SSPs to activate all available resources and ensure that peace and tranquillity is maintained in Chenab valley at any costs.
IGP stressed upon the district SSPs to hold regular crime meetings and to ensure that the supervisory officers keep monitoring the progress of investigation of cases.
He further directed all the concerned Range DIG and District SSPs to activate their all resources to generate intelligence so that law and order is maintained at all costs and anti-national elements do not get a chance to vitiate the prevailing peace and tranquility in the region.
It was also stressed upon district SSPs to keep close track over the social media and identify the miscreants and mischief mongers and take necessary action under law against those found involved in spreading rumour and anti-national comments.
Thereafter, IGP Jammu Zone along with DIG DKR Range and District SSPs reviewed the ongoing construction work of Police Post Patnitop and renovation work of GOs Mess Patnitop.
