Jammu, Sept 24: The Jammu and Kashmir government is mulling to launch a new 2G application for students amid low-speed problem faced by the pupils. The low-speed internet has been an issue for students across Jammu and Kashmir pupils are taking classes in an online mode amid Covid-19 pandemic. As per the reports, in a meeting held by Principal Secretary to Government for School Education Department Asgar Samoon said last week he said, “New 2G App to cope with present low-speed internet problem for online classes among the student community, shortly be launched across the Union Territory (UT) of JK.
In the meeting, Asgar Samoon had director Directors of School Education of both Jammu and Kashmir regions and Chief Education Officers (CEO’s) to remain prepared for the wider publicity of the application. Samoon said this during a meeting held on September-15 to review status of commitments made and direction issued during Project Approval Board (PAB) meeting 2020-21 of Samagra Shiksha and Mid-Day Meal schemes. Meanwhile, a senior official said that the school education department said that students have been facing hardship due to low-speed internet speed. Also, the teachers are facing the same. He added that a 2G app will be launched soon for the students of Jammu and Kashmir which will definitely a huge relief for pupils. The app will work at 2g speed as it has been a major concern for both teachers and students.
Meanwhile, students have a sigh of a ray of hope in the 2G app that the government is talking about. “If what is being said is true then it can be a major development for the students”, said Aqib a student.
He added, “We have to struggle at large due to low internet speed, we wanted 4G internet to restore as earliest so that we can have access to online classes in a better way.
