| Ventilators in District Hospital Udhampur non-functional, alleges Magotra | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Sept 24: Criticizing the administration of District Hospital (DH) Udhampur, senior Congress leader Sumeet Magotra said that the health institution is becoming a death zone instead of life line.
Addressing a press conference here today, Sumeet Magotra disclosed that few days back a teacher from Ramnagar was brought to District Hospital Udhampur for treatment in emergency but the attendants of the patient were told that the hospital has no ventilator so the patient may be referred to Government Medical College Jammu for necessary treatment but patient died on way to Jammu near Nagrota.
Magotra further said that it has come to fore that a month ago District Hospital Udhampur was equipped with 30 ventilators and why four days back this patient was not provided ventilator facility.
He alleged that ventilators are not still functional due to the defunct administration of District Hospital.
Magotra again expressed that at present so many Corona positive people are under home quarantine but it is unfortunate District Administration has not constituted any mobile team comprising of a doctor and Para medical staff to provide Medicare to the people those are under home quarantine.
He also lamented that CT scan machine of District Hospital Udhampur is out of order from more than four months and patients are straightway referred to GMC Jammu.
He informed that in this connection he has submitted a memorandum to the LG J&K UT and appealed to make a visit of District Hospital Udhampur to access the situation of the Hospital.
