KATHUA, Seot 24: District Development Commissioner, O.P Bhagat today chaired first District Skill Committee, here at DC office complex.
DEPO Aruna Sharma, District Social Welfare Officer, Abdul Rahim, Functional Manager DIC Sandeep Dubey, District Officer JKSC/ ST/ OBC Corp. Chunni Lal Verma, Distt. Nodal Officer JKEDI Virpartap Singh, LDM Kathua Narain Singh, Superintendent ITI Kathua Naresh Singh and representatives of JK Skill Dev. Mission were also present.
The DDC Kathua as the Chairman DSC directed the departments dealing with skill activities to submit the action plan of their respective departments before 30th September. He said the plan must be devised so as to ensure quantity, consistency and convergence in the skill ecosystem of the district.
The DDC asserted that committee members having a mandate of bringing out broad activities must work on bridging the skill gaps, imparting awareness about various centre/ state schemes relating to skill, conducting counseling for unemployed youth, introducing new emerging courses as per industrial needs. He also stressed promoting local art, craft and trade for employment generation in the district.
The meeting decided that Government ITI Kathua would act as Nodal Skill Centre and Superintendent ITI Kathua as the Convener DSC. The Chairman also nominated members from the departments dealing with skill activities and Industries. |
