JKGPA celebrates Pharmacist day

Jammu, Sept 25: Jammu Kashmir Govt Pharmacist Association, Jammu celebrated World Pharmacist Day at Medical Employee Federation Office (DHS Complex, Jammu) under the chairmanship of Mr Sushil Sudan Member, Pharmacy Council of India & President Jammu Kashmir Govt Pharmacist Association, Jammu. While addressing the participant SushilSudan highlighted the role of the pharmacist in patient care and implementing treatment. Pharmacists work as a bridge between Doctors and patients. He urged the pharmacist to take the pledge on this auspicious day to serve suffering humanity with utmost dedication and extend warm greeting to all the members of pharmacist community. They are an important part of Health care system and I am sure they will keep on doing the exemplary work during the current testing times of Covid -19 Pandemic. Together we will defeat this virus and transform the Global Health. This special day was established by the International Pharmaceutical Federation. The theme of the year 2020 is developed by the International Pharmaceutical Federation is “Transforming global health “. We aim to show how pharmacists contribute to a world where everyone benefits from access to safe, effective, quality and affordable medicines and health technologies, as well as from pharmaceutical care services. The theme of World Pharmacist Day emphasis that pharmacists are a trusted source of knowledge and advice, not only for the patient but for other healthcare professionals. For every patient who walks into a pharmacy, pharmacists ensure that the right medicine is provided at the right doses. Every Year three million Pharmacists around the world act as a partner to patient. In view of the Covid- 19 pandemic & death of one colleague Pharmacist during covid -19 duty association curtailed the programme of World Pharmacist Day 2020. The Guest of the programme was Iqbal Palla, Asstt Drug Controller, Surinder Mohan Tikku Assistant Drug Controller ( HQ), Jammu. Ch. Jarnail Singh working president JKGPA, Sh. Kamal Jit Sawhney Gen Secretary JKGPA, S.RP Singh, Bharat Bushan Bhagat, Singh, Shafkat Hussein, S. Harpal Singh, S.Darminder Singh, S Mela Singh, Raman Anand,, Jugal Bakshi and others addressed the whole gathering.
