JAMMU, Sept 25: A Junior Engineer (JE) in Public Works Department (Roads and Buildings) has allegedly used his influence to get his name inducted in seniority list as a result of which he secured an out of turn promotion as Assistant Engineer (AE) much earlier than it was scheduled.
Sources told Early Times that the alleged Junior Engineer, who was appointed on the basis of Diploma, had to be promoted in 2009 list but using his clout in the department he managed to get his name inducted with seniors, who were having degrees in Engineering and got promotion in advance in 2007.
“Although he did his degree during his job but managed to get inducted with other engineers who were appointed on the basis of degrees, which was done in violation of norms. He managed to get himself above in seniority by using monetary power within the department,” they said.
They further said that the other senior engineers from him, who were scheduled to be promoted in 2008 and 2009 were shocked to see that a junior in seniority got promotion in the list of 2007.
When Early Times contacted the concerned Executive Engineer (XEn) for his version, he said that he don’t know anything regarding the issue and further said that he would enquire about the matter. |
