COVID-19 recovery rate improves to 72 percent as 1937 patients recover, get discharged

SRINAGAR, Sept 26: The COVID-19 recovery rate in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir is improving with every passing day and today it reached 72 percent after 1937 virus affected patients were discharged from different hospitals of the union territory.
According to the official media bulletin 51,494 Corona Virus patients have recovered so far out of the total number of 71,049 virus affected patients. Jammu & Kashmir today reported 1217 fresh cases of virus while as 20 more people died in the past 24 hours.
Jammu district reported 301 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 180 cases, Doda district 88 cases, Kupwara district 73 cases, Poonch district 64 cases, Rajouri district 63 cases, Pulwama district 58 cases, Kishtwar district 53 cases, Budgam district 47 cases, Baramulla district 46 cases, Udhampur and Kathua districts 41 cases each, Reasi district 32 cases, Anantnag district 28 cases, Ganderbal district 26 cases, Samba district 21 cases, Bandipora district 19 cases, Ramban district 16 cases, Kulgam district 15 cases and Shopian district five cases.
Jammu district reported five fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by Srinagar district four deaths, two deaths each in Bandipora, Udhampur & Poonch districts and a death each in Budgam, Ganderbal, Kathua, Doda & Kishtwar districts. So far 819 people have died due to COVID-19 in Kashmir valley with the number of such deaths in Jammu division being 306.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 1,217 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 720 from Jammu division and 497 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 71,049. Also 20 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 12 from Jammu division and eight from Kashmir Division.
Moreover 1,937 more COVID-19 patients 1,154 from Jammu Division and 783 from Kashmir Division have recovered and discharged from various hospitals. Out of 71,049 positive cases, 18,430 are active positive, 51,494 have recovered and 1,125 have died; 306 in Jammu division and 819 in Kashmir division.
Out of 15, 39,284 test results available, 14, 68,235 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 5, 66,602 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 16,811 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 18,430 in isolation and 50,232 under home surveillance. Besides, 4, 80,004 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 14,204 positive cases, 2,158 active positive, 11,761 recovered, 285 deaths; Budgam has 4,703 positive cases, 1,174 active positive, 3,448 recovered, 81 deaths; Baramulla has 4,215 positive cases, 1,243 active positive, 2,851 recovered, 121 deaths; Pulwama has 3,817 positive cases, 482 active positive, 3,268 recovered, 67 deaths; Kupwara has 3,450 positive cases, 808 active positive, 2,577 recovered, 65 deaths.
“Anantnag has 3,444 positive cases, 428 active positive, 2,954 recovered, 62 deaths; Bandipora has 3,319 positive cases, 678 active positive, 2,605 recovered, 36 deaths; Ganderbal has 2,819 positive cases, 566 active positive, 2,225 recovered, 28 deaths; Kulgam has 2,244 positive cases, 135 active positive, 2,066 recovered, 43 deaths and Shopian has 2,000 positive cases, 184 active positive, 1785 recovered, 31 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 11,688 positive cases, 3,868 active positive, 7,656 recovered, 164 deaths; Rajouri has 2,464 positive cases, 1,339 active positive, 1,095 recovered, 30 deaths; Doda has 2,107 positive cases, 1,211 active positive, 870 recovered, 26 deaths; Udhampur has 2,089 positive cases, 492 active positive, 1583 recovered, 14 deaths; Kathua has 1,934 positive cases, 579 active positive, 1,334 recovered, 21 deaths.
“Poonch has 1,670 positive cases, 975 active positive, 683 recovered, 12 deaths; Samba has 1,627 positive cases, 774 active positive, 834 recovered, 19 deaths; Ramban has 1,273 positive cases, 451 active positive, 814 recovered, eight deaths; Kishtwar has 1,105 positive cases, 543 active positive, 555 recovered, seven deaths and Reasi has 877 positive cases, 342 active positive, 530 recovered, five deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 71,049 positive cases in J&K, 8,551 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
