Amit checks working of Covid Hospital Jammu

Jammu, Sept 26: Amit Sharma, Administrator, GMCH & Associated Hospitals Jammu today made an all-important visit to the primary Covid Hospital Jammu, which is fucntioning round the clock inside the premises of CD Hospital since the beginning of this Pandemic, as a part of the drive to get first hand account of medical facilities being provided to patients inside Associated Hospitals. During this visit which was conducted purely in the interest of Covid Positive patients care being treated here, Administrator Amit Sharma was accompanied by Medical Superintendent Dr Rajeshwar Sharma and HoD, Chest Disease & Tuberculosis Dr Rahul Gupta and other doctors who were working inside the Hospital.
Administrator AHJ Amit Sharma took a review of entire functioning of Covid Hospital wherein Medical Superintendent disclosed that more than 1060 Covid patients have been admitted here so far out of which 650 stand discharged after getting fully treated here, 343 went for either home quarantine or got shifted into different hospitals from here and only 11 critically ill Covid patients lost their lives here who were suffering with co-morbidities and around 60 Covid Positive patients are undergoing treatment inside this primary Covid Hospital of Jammu as on date.
On various queries of the Administrator, MS Covid Hospital assured him that all patients are being given adequate facilities like food, water and basic requirements inside Wards if the Hospital which were also shown through Virtual Mode visit of all the nooks and corners of the Hospital.
Administrator AHJ Amit Sharma took a detailed review of facilities including supply of oxygen at each bed inside all wards of Covid Hospital and saw live CCTV coverage wherein he felt satisfied with the efforts of Hospital authorities in terms of availability of Oxygen, Cleanliness, Patient Comfort, etc. Amit also took a round of Oxygen Storage facility inside CD Hospital and personally monitored the process of Oxygen Storage and Supplies to different beds inside the Hospital. Amit was informed that each 200 Pound Oxygen Cylinder is being replaced almost in less than half an hour time upon which he directed that the hospital staff must remain alert and cautious about its timely replacement. He also advised Dr Rajeshwar to keep adequate and additional/buffer stock of Oxygen Cylinders inside Covid Hospital so as to meet any contingency or extra-ordinary requirement in this behalf in the near future.
Before culminating the visit, Amit Sharma also visited the Joint Consultation Room of team of doctors led by Dr Rahul Gupta inside CD Hospital wherein all Doctors happen to sit and decide about customised treatment to be given to each Covid Positive Patient getting treated here. He also enquired about CT Scans being performed here for which exclusive dedicated Machinery are fully operational here so as to facilitate the assessment of health status of patients getting treated here from time to time as per medical advice.
Administrator appreciated the team work and dedication of Covid Hospital staff led by MS but at the same time, he mentioned that there is no room for complacency in working inside all Associated Hospitals so that there is minimal or nil damage in ongoing Pandemic times.
