Jammu, Sept 27: The workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena took out a protest against the shortage of oxygen supply at the Government Medical College.
“A patient consumes 3 cylinders in an span of 24 hours which takes the total of consumption for oxygen cylinder to 87*3=261 and 117*3=351 and the output consumption demand shown by GMC is 825 cylinders for 87 patients and 840 cylinder for 117 patients. It clearly shows that there is a scam or misuse for the oxygen cylinders”, the protesters said.
The surplus 579 cylinders has no justification as it is with evident and proof that the number of GMC justifies the fact that a single patient is consuming 8 cylinders, they added.
Ashok Gupta said that an enquiry should be conducted in the matter by the Commissioner Atul Dullo as how there is such a high consumption of oxygen regardless of less patients. The Principal medical college has proved to be a failure at all aspects.
