Jammu, Sept 28: Expressing deep concern over the deteriorating health services in Jammu and Kashmir UT, Vikrant Kapoor, State President of Hindustan Shiv Sena, blamed Finance Commissioner of Health and Medical Education Department Atal Dullo for this situation.
He said that the high officials of the Health Department have completely failed to provide health facilities to the common people during the covid-19, including corona patients. He said that the medical facility system in GMC Jammu and all affiliated hospitals has derailed. He demanded from the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha that the high officials of the Medical Department should be removed immediately and in their place appoint such efficent officers who could bring health services back on track so that the common people could get relief.
State President of Shiv Sena Hindustan Vikrant Kapoor said this while talking to reporters here today. He said that the health department has started OPD at Gandhinagar Hospital which is a commendable step but it is a late step. He has demanded to immediately start OPD in all government hospitals and restore the system of treatment for all patients as early as possible. He said that health services can be brought back on track only when the department’s Finance Commissioner Atal Dullo and other senior officers are transferred and efficient and qualified officers will be appointed in their place.
Hindustan Shiv Sena President Vikrant Kapoor blamed Atal Dulu and other officials for this failure and blameed that due to this failure and non-introduction of OPD in all government hospitals the people are facing lot of problems. He said that almost everything has been unlocked now, but OPD and other treatment facilities are still closed in the Health Department.
Vikrant Kapoor said that due to Corona epidemic, treatment of patients suffering from other diseases has not been getting treatment for more than 6 months, due to which they are facing so many problems. He said that senior officials responsible for the pathetic condition of health facilities in Jammu should have no right to continue on their posts and Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha should immediately intervene in this matter and transfer such officers responsible for this situation and appoint such officers who will bring back health services again on track.
At the same time, he said that the health insurance scheme announced by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha is a commendable step and urged the LG to immediate steps should be taken to implement it at the grassroots level so that people can get its benefits.
He said that many people are dying in GMC due to lack of oxygen, ventilators. He has demanded allocation of additional oxygen, ventilator quota for patients of hospitals of Jammu division. He urged Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha to convene a high-level meeting to bring health services back on track so that the functioning of Government Medical College and other affiliated hospitals could be put on track. He said that there has been no improvement in the situation even after the central team’s visit and the GMC hospital has become a death center and butcher Khana. He said that people are now afraid of coming to GMC and government hospitals.
During the press conference Sunil Dabagotra, Hindustan Shiv Sena state vice president, Nitin Mehra, Amit, Himanshu Gupta, Baba Ram Kaith, women wing leader Sapna Kohli, Neeru verma, Jyoti Devi and others were also present.
