Satyagraha against farmer bill enters Day-4: Kissan Congress, farmers’ demand revocation
9/29/2020 12:02:58 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Sept 28: Dozens of farmers belonging from Suchetgarh and RS Pura areas of Jammu division under the banner of All J&K Kissan Congress leaders staged protest against the Farm Bills.
Led by Ch. Gharu Ram, Former Minister and Chairman of J&K Kissan Congress and Prabhu Singh Vice-Chairman, the party leaders and workers raised slogans against the BJP government at the Centre.
The protest rally was organized as a part of Kissan Congress initiated unprecedented ‘Satyagraha’ against the BJP led Government for amending ‘Anti-Farmer’ bills 2020 on day four. The Protest was organized by District Kissan Congress, Suchetgarh and RS Pura units under the leadership of Ch Gharu Ram. The farmers, Kissan Congress members and leaders demanded immediate revocation to anti-farmers bills.
Talking to reporters, Gharu Ram said that the farm bills must be withdrawn as they are not beneficial for farmers. “Under farm bills the farmers will be enslaved at the hands of private players and big businesses,” he said and added that the farmers in J&K have been pushed to devastation by the anti-farmers bills passed by the BJP led Government. He said that the farmers have lost faith in the BJP-led Central Government as it passed the Bills that were totally against the best interest of the farming sectors and land owners.
“Farmers’ income and the price of produce will be directly in the hands of big corporate houses whom the farmers will have no contact with and control over the decision of deciding Minimum Support Price (MSP),” Gharu claimed.
Gharu lamented at the BJP-led government for depriving the farmers of their own blood and sweat.
Gharu Ram asserted that the ‘Satyagraha’ shall continue till October 2 in which several protests and rallies will be organized to mark resentment against the BJP government for betraying farmers of the nation.
