9/29/2020 10:11:15 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Sept 29: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) expressed its strong resentment and displeasure over completely ignoring the victim KP relief holders, over-aged youths and other grave issues of the displaced community, besides, extending its full support to KPSS demands.
KPC in a meeting today at New Delhi expressed its anger and anguish over the failure of JK UT government as well as of the central government to solve the problems of Kashmiri Migrant Relief Holders and Over-aged youth who are the worst sufferers of the three decade long turmoil and official apathy. It is most unfortunate that the authorities and the establishment at the helm of affairs have not felt the pain of exiled Kashmiri Pandits whose mass exodus is the biggest tragedy in modern history.
KPC Chief Kundan Kashmiri stated that the most existential problems of the community has been ignored which has suffered an immense loss due to terrorism and genocide.
A meager amount of relief can’t guarantee them a dignified and honorable life as the community has lost its entire property after the mass exodus. How long the educated youth who were denied jobs and ignored in other welfare schemes announced by the Government from time to time for the people of the erstwhile State over these years will remain dependent on the meager cash doles when their future is totally bleak. He also demanded restoration of displaced Kashmiri Pandits property and property of their religious places which has been encroached, sold or illegally leases, besides, medical facilities and Central schemes be implemented for Kashmiri Pandits and employment package for unemployed KP youths in central government departments and undertakings.
Senior Vice President Tej Pandita stated that there is no Government policy to look into the problems of these hapless people nor any steps are being taken for their honorable and dignified rehabilitation by the Government despite the fact that Kashmiri Pandits contribution to Indian aesthetics and other fields is immense.
Kundan Kashmiri and other KPC leaders appealed to Lt. Governor JK UT for urgent redressal of their demands and problems.
