Police files chargesheet against 4 LeT militants, 3 militant associates in Handwara

KUPWARA, Sept 29: Police on Tuesday filed chargesheet against four Lashkar Toiba militants and three militant associates in North Kashmir’s Handwara area.
In a statement, the police said that, it today submitted the Charge sheet in respect of case FIR No 104/2020 of Police Station Handwara.
The FIR pertains to the incident dated 03 April this year When Handwara Police along with 21 RR, 92 CRPF arrested 04 militants and 03 militant Associates of Let outfit.
The statement further says, after conclusion of investigation the Chargesheet has been filed before the Competent Court by Handwara Police U/s 13,18,20,23,38 UA(P) Act ; 7/25 Indian Arms Act, and substantive offences thereof subsequent to obtaining necessary Government sanction for prosecution under UA(P) Act.
The Chargesheet has been filed against 04 militants namely Parvaiz Ahmad Chopan son of Ab Rashid Chopan resident of Shartpora Langate, Mudasir Ahmad Pandith son of Ab Rehman Pandith resident of Zargar mohalla Langate, Mohd Shafi Shiekh son of Mohd Ahsan Shiekh resident of Langate and Burhan Din Wani@ Burhan son of Mushtaq Ahmad Wani resident of Tulwari Langate.
The other three militant Associates of militant organization LeT namely Azad Ahmad Bhat son of Ab Razaq Bhat resident of Shalpora Langate, Altaf Ahmad Baba son of Salam Din Baba resident of Babagund Seelo Rafiabad and Irshad Ahmad Chalkoo son of Said-ud-din Chalkoo resident of Silikoot Uri for their role in hatching Criminal Conspiracy for the militant act, Harbouring militants and giving Support to the militant Organisation, the statement added.
